Warren, Michigan, incorporated in 1957, is the largest city in Macomb County. Other distinctions include its being the third most populous city in the State of Michigan and the largest suburb of the metropolitan Detroit area.

Warren’s population, according to the U.S. Census 2000, was 136.016 (even with a estimated drop in 2003 of -1.6% it still maintains these placements).  Warren's population soared, from 727 to 89,426  between 1950 and 1960. This incredible population explosion was fueled exodus from its southern neighbor of Detroit in that decade. Large-scale annexation continued into the next decade when the city's population doubled again. As the community has matured, however, its population has gradually leveled off and in the new millennium has actually declined.

Warren, MI gets top honors for having its residents stay around even after retirement. The average length of residency in Warren is 35.5 years while nationally we change our city, county or state of residency every 8 years. Warren also has the 5^th largest population over 65 with more than 17% of its residents. They are only closely at a tie with Hollywood, FL where that percentage is expected in a city of over 100,000. 

Warren is the home of the Prestigious United States Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM), the Tank Automotive Research, Development, and Engineering Center (TARDEC), the National Automotive Center (NAC). General Motors Technical Center.
